Portugal came out on top against Spain in Germany to clinch their second UEFANations league title . Ronaldo was in tears after captaining portugal to their second Nations league title and ending his 4 year trophy drought.

A NIGHT TO FORGET FOR LAMINE YAMAL

First things first, Lamine Yamal did not have a bad game , in fact, he had a solid 7/10 performance against a brilliant Portugal side . The 17 year old throughout the game had at least 5 defenders on him and one of them was a brilliant Nuno Mendes but nevertheless it was not the usual masterclass by him . He was unable to register a goal or an assist , probably could have done more to stop Nuno Mendes from puting in the cross in the spanish box which led to the Ronaldo equaliser. A learning curve for the brilliant game.

NUNO MENDES : ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT

Nuno Mendes, simply brilliant. We all have seen him in previous seasons and the promise he has shown in the previous 2 seasons but this season, under Luis Enrique he has become a different animal. Afgter coming of the back of an exceptional season with 'la Parisien' , he justified the shouts of best left back in the world . He kept Lamine Yamal from posing a threat to the portugese backline which is probably the hardest thing in the world to do at this very moment and at the same time absolutely obliterated the spanish defense with his speed and strength. he registered a goal and an assist , proving to be amenace on both ends of the pitch

SPAIN'S DEFENSIVE WOES CONTINUES

Don’t get me wrong ,Spain are by far the best team in Europe possibly the world but what cannot be ignored is that recently Spain have been woeful defensively in fact Spain have failed to keep a clean sheet in the last six matches, the matches that they have won , they did so by one goal or penalties, Spain have consistently led their opponents back into the games even when they have been in comfortable positions. It happened against the Dutch , le Bleus, and it happened against their neighbours . Hopefully they can fix it by the world cup or there is South American team with a little man that will rip them apart.
